The Coronation Of The Locust Queen
The Coronation Of The Locust Queen
The Greatest Fear shot out of the Los Angeles Metal Scene in 2005 with their critically acclaimed debut CD: "The Coronation Of The Locust Queen." Winning the Independent Music Awards "Hard Rock/ Heavy Metal" Album of the year and featured on the 5th Annual Award Show's CMJ Charting "Now Hear This" CD compilation, The Greatest Fear further offered the idea of being unabashedly indie as a viable possibility by selling an impressive 10,000 CDs for absolute industry unknowns.
Defining and exposing younger audiences to the darker more melodic side of metal, The Greatest Fear proved to dominate their live performances with sheer nihilistic intensity. Fronted by Classical Composer/ Arranger Jane Alisabeth Grey, the unrivaled musical command of the group allowed them to navigate Heavy Metal, Hard Rock & Gothic scenes. Core members Grey and Brian Saunders profound rejection of the typical band model lead them to share the stage with acts like Heavy Metal Legends Prong to simultaneously working in the industry as a serious composers, arrangers and studio musicians.
